Twenty three detained in “Movement of Nameless” operation in Turkey

The Istanbul Fight Against Cyber Crimes Bureau conducted an operation against the “Movement of the Nameless” on 24 September in İstanbul in Turkey.

Twenty-three people, including writer Temel Demirer, were detained by police on charges of “membership of a terror organisation”, “inciting people to hatred and hostility” and “insulting the president”.

Journalist Hakan Gülseven was released following his testimony on the same day. Five of the detainess were released and eighteen were referred to the court. Twelve of them were also released after they testified to the prosecutor.

Lawyer Tamer Doğan, Özen Kulaçoğlu, İsmail Keleş and Tayfun Uçar were referred to the investigating judge concerning a request to release them on bail. Later, they were released.
Şehmus Kavak, Misli Cihan Şenleten and Özgür Doğuş Erhan were referred to the court with a request to arrest them on the grounds of “insulting the president”.
