Turkey’s attacks on Ain Issa continue

Attacks against North East Syria have continued during the night and into the early morning on 20 December.

The Turkish state and its mercenaries bombed neighbourhoods located in the northern regions of Ain Issa. According to local sources, attacks continued for a long period.

In addition, the village of Soxanekê in the Şêrawa district of Afrin (Efrin), the village of Şiwarqa in the Şera district and Şiwarqa Castle were attacked in the same time period.

The assaults began on 18 December when Turkish-backed armed groups attacked the village of Mişêrifê in northeastern Syria. According to local information, the violent clashes that started then are still ongoing.

The Turkish state and its affiliated armed groups also attacked the Toxar village in the northeast of Manbij. The attack, which started in the evening, was defended by Manbij Military Council fighters, and the attacks continued into the morning.

In the regions of Tell Tamer and Zirgan, close to the battlefront, the mobility of the Turkish-backed groups had increased. While the attacks on the villages of Ain Issa continued, Turkish-backed groups mobilised near the Hesekê Canton.
