Turkey intensifies its attacks on Ayn Issa and surrounding area in North East Syria

Turkish state forces military attacks against the North and Eastern Syria continue especially in Ayn Issa and Tel Abyad (Girê Spi) which are now being bombed almost eveyday. Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) members said that Tukish state’s aims are to deepen their invasion and occupation plans.

The Turkish state has increased its attacks against Ayn Issa and Tel Abyad.

The district centre of Ayn Issa, villages and the M4 international highway is being bombed and military attacks have been carried out against the region.

Karker Andok, one of SDF commanders of Ayn Issa, commented on the current situation.

Andok stated that they were ready against all possible assaults and that they would use their right to self-defense until the end.

SDF commander Andok also said that the Turkish stated aimed to expand the borders of the areas It occupied, cut the connection between M4 highway and Cizire region, and deepen its occupation, adding, “The Turkish state’s aim is to carry out massacres against all living beings on these lands. They attack people’s settlements with artillery shells full of high explosives, bomb the villages and houses of civilian people.”

Andok also expressed that Russia and the Syrian regime has remained silent about the attacks and said “The Turkish state has set up its bases in several places and advanced 2 kilometers to the city centre of Ayn Issa.”

Another SDF member Murat Minbic commented that the Turkish state has been carrying out its attacks and raids for years.

Minbic said that SDF fighters consisted of the sons and daughters of people living in North East Syria and added, “So, the people will stand with their sons and daughters to the end.”
