Clashes between PKK guerillas and the Turkish army are ongoing in South Kurdistan. It has been reported that fighting lasted through the night on September 11th in the town of Batifa in Dihok’s Zaxo province.

The mayor of Batifa, Dilşer Abdulstar, reported that Turkish fighter jets and Apache helicopters bombed the region, with six missile attacks targeting Badur village, three targeting Pirbula and Evlih villages, and six more targeting Keşan village.

Many fields and gardens were burned during the attacks in Sorya village. The fires have been extinguished by the villagers.

The village of Şerenüs was also targeted by the Turkish army in the latest bombings. Kurdistan Democratic Party officials threatened mixed Assyrian-Muslim village, forcing villagers to leave their homes before Turkish forces attacked.

Many villages in Haftanin, including Şeranüs and Keşan, have been emptied due to the bombings. Villagers in the areas around Kanîmasî, Derkarê, Ewlehê, and Pîrpula were also forced to leave their home.

Turkey launched Operation Claw-Tiger on the 16th of June in the Haftanin region. Many villages have been destroyed and emptied, and hundreds of people have been forced to flee their homes.
