Statement from KESK Women’s Council: Release our Detained Members

Istanbul KESK (the Confederation of Public Workers’ Unions) Women’s Council protested against the detention of their executives and members and demanded their immediate release.

The Council protested against the detention of the Eğitim Sen Central Women’s Secretary Derya Yulcu and two Eğitim Sen members in a public statement at the Eğitim Sen office in Beyoğlu, İstanbul.

With the participation of KESK members, the statement was read by Seher Göğercin, the Women’s Secretary of the 3rd Branch of Eğitim Sen. She said that politically genocidal attacks were the result of the fascist government’s educational policies that aimed at market-oriented policies. The AKP government is pursuing ‘anti-women’ policies. Göğercin requested the release of all their members.
