The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), based in London, has made a statement regarding the violations of rights that took place in Serêkaniyê, North East Syria, during Turkey’s occupation.
The SOHR revealed that the Turkish state opened schools providing Sharia training, and stated that the houses seized during the occupation were given to foundations, such as the Humanitarian Aid Association (İHH), which were instructed by the Turkish Intelligence Organization (MİT).
According to the SOHR’s source, at least eight civilian houses were turned into Sharia schools and at least four were delivered to the Humanitarian Aid Association.
Turkish teachers taught in the schools and at least 140 teachers were appointed to Serêkaniyê.
Primary school education was provided for girls and boys under the age of 14, who were educated in separate classrooms.
