The second of the “Voice of the Past: Amida Concerts” took place in Diyarbakır’s Zerzevan Castle on November 13.
The concert series, which is held by the Diyarbakır Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DTSO), takes place in historical sites around the city.
The first of the concerts was held in the Hasuni Caves in an event titled “10 Historical Places, 10 Unique Concerts” on 16 October. The second of the concerts was held with a different concept in Zerzevan Castle, which dates from the Roma era, located in the Çınar district of Diyarbakır.
The concert was broadcast on the DTSO’s social media channels and musicians performed western classical music alongside local and traditional songs. Mikail Aslan performed Thasin Taha’s piece “Seyrana” alongside works in the Zaza and Kurmanci languages.
The concert began at sunrise with a classical music recital, and concluded at sunset with a piano recital and a performance of klams (Kurdish traditional song).
