Reactions against the ‘KDP-Turkey collaboration’ emerge

Since June, Turkey has launched attacks against southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq) and the Qandil Mountains. Clashes between Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) forces and the Turkish state continue in the region.

The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) cooperates with the Turkish government in these operations.

Mehmet Emin Pencweni, a Kurdish politician, has stated that Necirvan Barzani passed on a letter that Emmanuel Macron, the president of France, had written to Turkey’s president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The letter reportedly states that Turkey can no longer carry out its attacks in the region and that France believes that Turkish state’s attacks should be delimited and that the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and Iraq should not cooperate with Turkey.

It has been reported that Turkey, in the meeting that was recently held in Ankara,
demanded that Barzani fights against the PKK.
