Citizens of Iraqi Kurdistan have reacted against the Kurdistan Democratic Party’s deployment of its armed forces in regions where Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) forces are located, and condemned the KDP’s cooperation with the Turkish government.
Stating that a war between Kurdish parties would only serve their enemies, citizens in Iraqi Kurdistan called on all sides to avoid a war and to solve their problems through dialogue.
The Patriotic Youth Movement and the Union of Fighting Young Women distributed leaflets in Silêmani.
They referenced Turkey’s attacks and the KDP’s provocations, and called on society to take responsibility and prevent a civil war.
Citizens of Hewler echoed the call to try a dialogue-driven approach, reiterating that a war would benefit enemies of the Kurdish people. People living in the Germiyan region also reacted against the KDP’s policies and said the Turkish attacks were caused by political parties.
