Peoples Assembly co-chair Bilen: End the embargo on Makhmur refugee camp

Pakistan Bilen, the Peoples Assembly co-chair, said there were concerns, on the one hand, over the Covid-19 outbreak and on the other, the attacks in Makhmur which has been under an embargo for fourteen months. Makhmur is located in Iraq.

Makhmur refugee camp has been under a harsh embargo for over a year. Around 12,000 people live in the camp and over half of the population are children.

Although the residents of the camp live under harsh conditions due to the embargo carried out by the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), they still aim to make a living. Bilen spoke to MA about the conditions in the camp.
