Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) candidates were elected in the local elections at Ağrı (Agiri), in Patnos district, on 31 March. The trustee appointed to the municipality left a debt of about 136 million lira, but the income of the municipality is just 36 million per year. The municipality consequently faces foreclosure because of the trustee’s debts and cannot even pay its employees their monthly salaries.
