Kurdish youth march in support of the hunger strikers in Turkish prisons

Young activists from the People’s Democratic Party (HDP) marched in Diyarbakır (Amed) in south-eastern Turkey to express their solidarity with the hunger strikers in Turkish prisons. “A thousand greetings to the comrades who are resisting in the prisons”, they chanted whilst marching.

Kurdish political prisoners have launched an indefinite-rotating hunger strike to protest against their anti-democratic treatment in prisons and the prison isolation conditions that continue to be imposed upon the Kurdistan Workers’ Party’s (PKK’s) leader, Abdullah Öcalan. The indefinite hunger strike is into its seventh day.
