Iraqi state forces attack protestors in Sulaymaniyah

The state forces of the Iraqi government used tear gas and weapons attacking the protestors, who came together in front of the Defence Council of Sulaymaniyah, Hawar News Agency (ANHA) reports.

Members of the Dengê Nerazî Congress, who came together in front of the Defence Council of Sulaymaniyah had been previously detained by the Iraqi law enforcement.

Despite all the attempts of the government, the citizens launched a protest in front of the Defence Council.

As the protestors faced an attack, it is reported that the Iraqi government forces used tear gas and weapons to dispense the protestors.

Many reporters and civilians are injured after the incident, according to ANHA.

Security intervention by the Iraqi forces against the protests are reported to be continuing in the city of Sulaymaniyah.
