The Mesopotamia Agency (MA) has obtained the identity information of 88 recruits transferred from Syria to Karabakh and Libya as “mercenaries” affiliated with the Turkish state.
The claims about Turkey’s recruitment of mercenaries from Syria to the war in Libya and Karabakh gained the most attention in international media outlets.
After the Syrian civil war, the Free Syrian Army (FSA), followed by the Syrian National Army (SMO), were backed by the Turkish state. Turkey used these mobilised groups to gain an advantage in the area.
The first allegations came after the presence of Syrian fighters in Libya, and later during the clashes over disputed territory in Nagorno-Karabakh. In the international press recruits were quoted talking about deployment routes in Libya and Karabakh and being paid two thousand dollars in return for their enlistment.
Now in Kashmir and Qatar?
According to HawarNews Turkey has been transporting Syrian mercenaries with the approval of some international powers. There are also allegations that after Syrian fighters were deployed by Turkey to fight in the Libyan conflict and Karabakh, Turkey is seeking to transfer a new batch of mercenaries to Kashmir and Qatar.
Although these claims were rejected by Turkey, the Mesopotamia Agency (MA) has obtained the information and photographs of 88 mercenaries who were transferred to Libya and Karabakh.
The mercenaries range from the ages of 19 to 40 and come from Damascus, Hummus, İdlib and Dera in Syria. Some are from Efrîn, which Turkey took control of in 2018. It was also revealed that while some are returning from war zones, most of them are still in Libya and Karabakh.
