Diyarbakir (Amed) traders face financial ruin

The rise in exchange rates is condemning many citizens to poverty, and the numbers of people being affected in this manner are rising daily.

The daily rise in the foreign exchange rate continues in Turkey. Contrary to the words of the Minister of Treasury and Finance Berat Albayrak that “the currency is not important for me, I do not look at the foreign exchange rate at all” as it is not of significance, tradespeople in Diyarbakir (Amed) in Turkey report that they are facing a desperate situation financially. They state that their businesses cannot survive and that they are unable to pay even their electricity and water bills for their shops.
