Whilst the visit of Belgian Federal Parliamentarians to North and East Syria continues, Belgian parliamentarian Koen Metsu, who is on the delegation, spoke to the Hawar News Agency.

Metsu stated that Turkey and its mercenaries are violating the rights of the people in North and East Syria. “International public opinion should make Turkey stop those violations”, he said. Metsu also said that he will present his observations about the region to the Belgian government. But he added: “These violations can no longer be ignored”.

Metsu noted that to eliminate the threats in the region, the Kurdish people and the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) in the region should be supported: “As a member of the Flemish people, I stand by the Kurds. The Autonomous Administration established by the Kurds should be recognized and supported”. Metsu added that the United States should put pressure on Turkey to stop the attacks by Turkey in the region.
