A rocket attack was launched against the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on Twitter, “Iranian-backed militias once again flagrantly and recklessly attacked in Baghdad wounding Iraqi civilians.” Pompeo described such actions as “the most serious obstacle to peace and prosperity in Iraq”.

While the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad condemned the attack, it urged Iraqi officials to take steps to prevent such attacks in the future and catch those responsible.
