According to Mesopotamia Agency (MA), Mardin Provincial Police Department announced the detention of fourteen people in Turkey as part of an investigation that was launched by the Mardin Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office into the activities of the Democratic Society Congress (DTK) and City Council and Neighborhood Assemblies. Local media reported the detention of six people in Diyarbakır (Amed) and Adana.

Free Women’s Movement (TJA) spokesperson Ayşe Gökkan was taken into custody in the morning after a police raid on her home in Diyarbakır (Amed).

The raid was reportedly one of several house raids that were undertaken within the scope of the investigation that was launched by the Adana Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office into claims of “helping the organization”.

Five other people, including Bedri Altan, a patient with a a chronic lung disease (COPD), were reportedly detained in house raids in Adana and Diyarbakır (Amed).

A large number of digital materials were reportedly confiscated during the home searches. As part of the investigation, 24-hour “lawyer visitation restrictions” were imposed on the detainees.
